I am a Specialist Public Health Practitioner, Paediatric Nurse & Mentor. I was honoured to be invited to No.10 Downing Street by Former Prime Minister, Theresa May in 2017. I followed several passions in my time, but deep within me I still longed to make a difference in the life of children. It was not until I listened to the late Dr Myles Munroe’s message on ‘The purpose for your Life’ when my Eureka moment unraveled. When you find your purpose, you do it without thinking of remuneration or recognition. The intrinsic joy and satisfaction of making a difference becomes your drive and your reward.

I have always worked with children with complex needs and disabilities within their homes and in hospitals in the UK. Driven by empathy for children with disabilities and their families, I traveled to Zimbabwe in 2014 where I visited a home for children and young adults with a disability. I emptied the suitcase of my own clothes and gave it to them. Compassion and social justice gears pressed in my heart when I returned to the UK. Their needs and my hope to reach out to them gave birth to Hope & Salvation. I now commit to using my skills and abilities to engage with children with disabilities, one African nation at a time and bridge the inequality in accessing education and health services. I commit with the dedicated team and volunteers at Hope & Salvation to ensure that skills and abilities of children with a disability will be used to inform policies that impact them.

I commit to serve this marginalized group and advocate and lobby for their rights. I commit to changing the narrative of children with a disability, I commit to enhance their visibility in society, in the media, in the fashion and advertising industry, in schools. Persons with a disability deserve to contribute positively in the society they grow and live in.
