There’s a huge stigma around children with disabilities in countries across Africa. Majority of children with disabilities are frown upon and are regarded as a shame and disgraceful to be given birth to.
This then leads to a lot of missed opportunities, shattered minds, shattered people and shattered futures and it does not have to be so.
I have learnt that just because someone may have a disability, it does not stop them from having a life worth living and achieving so much just like everybody else. It is possible with just with a little more help.
Children are the future and that does not exempt children with disabilities.
They deserve opportunities like everyone else. They deserve to be heard and be the best version of themselves and not to be limited in anyway.
